Motherhood!

This week, I have got this exciting topic to share with all beautiful Mums out there. It is MOTHERHOOD. I was speaking to one of my friends who happens to be a “stay at home mum” and we were talking about raising children as stay at home Mum versus working Mum. We argued back and forth on who is working harder between the two; and this thought drove me to write about this interesting topic.

I will like to start by describing a working Mum as someone who manages the home, children and also in full or part time employment or an entrepreneur. On the other side, a stay at home mum is described as someone who primarily manages the home and the children.

Often times, people describe stay at home Mum as lazy. But every mother is a rare gem in every capacity either as a stay at home mum or working mum. Actually, in in every sense they are both Working Mums!

They are both doing wonderful jobs of bringing up children, maintaining the home and taking care of a husband as the case maybe. Often times, the stay at home Mum is busy doing things round the house even when the children are in school. And in the case of having toddlers, the stay at home Mum is practically waiting on the little children all day long till bed time.

At this juncture, the working Mum might feel I am unfair by showering lot of praises on the stay at home Mum and may argue that: to combine work and family life can be overwhelming.  I can definitely relate with this as a Mum myself with two lovely children and managing the home has given me in-depth understanding of how we, women, are specially carved by God to shoulder these responsibilities gracefully and lovingly.

The joy it brings when a woman realises she is pregnant cannot be described in plain words especially for a first time mum. You start to think that this is it: another life is growing in me. And as the pregnancies develops, the realisation of body/ hormonal changes set in the woman. What a great joy and relief when the child is born hale and hearty. The joy of raising one child is beyond measures, so also the hard work that it entails. The joy of raising two or more children may be an overwhelming task with lots of responsibility. Yet, it is amazing when you begin to see the children blossom and achieve greatness.

Every mum is doing an amazing job no matter whether working or as a stay at home Mum. Let's celebrate both .They are contributing to raising glorious children!

Motherhood is hard work, beautiful and fulfilling.

For all the mum who wakes up early to get the children ready for school, goes on the school run, comes back to get lunch ready and do some house chores, gets the children from school and spends time with them before dinner and then ensures that dinner is served with the husband back and yet still gets the children for an evening bath before getting them ready to sleep….YOU ARE AMAZING!!!
