It has been a journey of discovery and rediscovery of my identity
and passion. I cannot celebrate this anniversary without sharing with you, the
story behind this blog.
Olufunmiadeyemo.blogspot.com was birth, as a result of going back
to my first love (writing). It came at a defining point in my life when I needed
to rediscover my passion and do something that gives me a great sense of
confidence, enjoyment and accomplishment. After much prayers and thoughts, this
blog was conceived.
While
struggling with the thoughts and fear of how to go about it and without telling
anyone; Silas and Tayo (two good friends) and unaware of issues I was battling
with, phoned me two weeks apart encouraging to go back to writing.
Tayo offered
to guide me, but I tried to dissuade him by giving lot of excuses for instance; I
have got two children to look after plus work schedule which can be exhausting.
Unknown to both of them I was scared of writing (something I stopped since
2005) and questioning my ability likewise wondering who will read? What will I
write about? I want to say THANK YOU to both of them and also to appreciate
Tayo for his continuous advice and guidance. You have shown me that the sky is
big enough for all to fly. Initially I started with the blog
funmiadeyemo.blogspot.com, but had issues with it and created this new one
(olufunmiadeyemo.blogspot.com).
What I have
learnt in this past year is that we all need people to encourage us to unlock
those potentials in us. Imagine if I had made all the excuses, then there will
be no blog. It has been a long and arduous journey but I have enjoyed
every moment of it. It has taught me the importance of creating time for what
is important to you and believing that you can do it.
My appreciation also goes to my husband, Dayo for his continuous support and encouragement. I love you!
Also to my wonderful siblings, especially Ebunoluwa and Ayodele, thank you for continuous encouragement, support and sharing at every opportunity. Thanks I love you guys !
To my beautiful children (David Idunnuoluwa and Lois Sholamipe ), you continue to inspire me to see the better side of life, Mummy loves you always!
To all my wonderful readers all over the world, thanks for reading.
Likewise those who have dropped comments at some point, thanks a lot. To those
who had phoned me at some point, I sincerely appreciate those kind words.
To my Creator, my God, my Rock, my unfailing Source and Shelter
in the storm, I am saying a big THANK YOU!
This is
another year for this blog, let’s roll together!

It is good to walk in darkness with a good friend than walk lonely in light. I am happy to be part of the success story. You have great potentials that you are yet to explore in your write up but I believe you will look inward to the undergraduate days in Unilorin and pick them up. The sky is the beginning of your greatness.
ReplyDeleteOre, thanks a lot. I am still work in progress! You will see some changes.
DeleteHappy Writing Anniversary to a wonderful friend and sister. May God increase you on all sides.
