BAMIDELE
O ba bamidele,o ba bamitale,Oba bamikale,
You came into world of love
and fame,
Having all, lacking none,
Bamidele!
Your birth was echoed over
mountains and seas,
A crowned prince is born,
Hale and hearty was your
birth,
And a glorious celebration
announced your triumphant name!
Mama and Papa demise stole
your childhood
Bamidele, rolled to be
child boy, boy man,
Now MAN of SUCCESS
Tall, rich, no wealthy,
Very wealthy,
Having all but needing one,
A vacuum of love no one can
fill,
For fear of your FURY and PRIDE
Your rage like thunderbolt,
With your tentacles
spreading across the wall,
No one dare stand before
your SANGO rage,
For every damsel that has
befriended you, you’ve burnt,
At last! You met your march
a Raging Storm,
The uniqueness of your
life, the uniqueness of your UNION…

To the Mystery Man
To the mystery man who lives down the
road,
Quietly in, quietly out,
You seldom look around,
Walking absently down the road,
With the Universe napping over your
shoulders,
Your walking gait a mystery, your
name a mystery
Your large frame pulling around
your potbelly, with the coffee teeth flashing when you eventually
say HELLO!
Your past a mystery, your
presence mysterious,
Only wrinkles on your face revealing
untold stories, Stories of your life…
Away like a shadow you breeze away into unknown.

LOVING ONESELF
I was just shopping in a local store few days ago when this phrase
dropped in my heart. I kept debating whether to write or not to write. I felt
led by God to share this: Loving one-self is the first step towards
self-discovery. It is about appreciating yourself no matter who you are, tall
or short, slim or curvy, rich or poor. Loving yourself is the authentic you. It
is the inner beauty and realisation of oneself.
It helps one to be comfortable in his or her own skin. It is your true
voice! It is the main key towards good self-esteem; for some it is a journey of
self-discovery. Pleasing others at the expense of yourself will definitely end
in frustration and regrets. Both loving other people first or always, is like
caging your real self and flaunting your fake personality, which will end in
everlasting regrets later in life. You might be pondering on the above
assertion of mine, well, I am not ignoring the area of reflection and being a
better person; but trying to please others first at the expense of your own
happiness can be disastrous.
No matter how old you may be, no matter the life experience that has
shaped you to lose your real essence; it is never too late to discover yourself
and love yourself. It is the inner beauty and joy that glows out. I have
heard these countless times when people say they felt that a partner, friend,
or a particular profession will bring them joy or maximum satisfaction and it
has ended in frustration.
Having explained what it means to love one self, I think I need to share
some tips that will enhance self-discovery and loving:
1. Forgive yourself no matter the things that has
happened in the past. You might say oh no! You don’t know my story or history,
yet, you need to forgive yourself. Forgiveness I know is a healing process,
there will be a phase of anger, of apportioning blame or believing you are the
reason why others trample on you. There might even be a phase of crying
yourself to bed and awake. That’s another topic for another time.
2. Stand in front of the mirror and talk to yourself;
I am sure someone will say it is crazy. ‘’Why should I talk to myself?’’
Believe it or not it works! I am a living proof. I can’t count the number of
times I have had to talk to myself saying ‘Funmi, you are smart, you are beautiful,
you are intelligent, you are a blessing and never let anyone put you down.’ It
enhances self –esteem.
3. Having a firm relationship with God is a key
factor towards loving yourself. For, when all the chips are down, God is ever
present and loving no matter the season!
4. Take good care of yourself/treat yourself- eat
sensibly, dress decently. Be yourself! Whether you do good or bad, people are
still entitled to their opinions. You may not be able to control the things
people say about you, but you can control how you react to it.
5. Choose
to be happy! It is by choice.
6. Discover that hidden talent in you and build
it. Before when I hear people talk about discovering hidden talent, I do say I
have none because I don’t really feel I can have something special. The hidden
talent is the thing you enjoy doing effortlessly. It may be writing, cooking,
making beads, drawing, dancing, baking, collecting antiques, gardening and so
on. There is always something you are good at, that you may not really see as
SPECIAL!
7. Choose your friends carefully.
You might be wondering why I am so passionate about this, I am also a
work in progress. Remember iron sharpens iron!
I will love to read your comments

Love
You are RED, carved into another,
RED,DEEP RED you bind together,
Together in love, together in accord,
Your PERFUME drowns me into DEEPER love,
Together in love, together in accord,
You are strong, stronger than death,
You are deadlier than wrath,
You are sharp, sharp like needle,
You are warm like mother’s sweet embrace,
You are RED and GREEN,
You are LOVE!

ASAKE
Pretty
of tall ambition
Pretty
of all nation,
Of
your flawless beauty and purity,
Perfect
in curves, lass of knowledge.
Dark
goddess, of silver teeth,
Of
short but shiny hair,
Of
your slim and tender temple
To
be great was your dream,
To
be master of all,
With
sunrise on her side,
.
. . Until the rape?
Should
I call it ball game?
Or
the fall of Eden
Or
better been deceived for apple,
You
cried but was gone,
King
treasure of all season stolen, you said
He
laughed at your pain,
He
laughed at your stain,
For
a season a seed spring forth in you
Could
it be dream?
Or
funny stream of love,
It
dawn on you, not dream,
But
reality of your mistake,
You
cried, am a child carrying a child
Too
late! Spilled milk on the floor,
Messed
up, trashed down, ambition gone,
Hope
of tall ambition ceased,
Child
to care for a child
Sadden,
swollen, trodden,
You
sat down resigned to fate.
Until
glimpse of hope,
your only hope, an inner cry of redemption,
Yes, fallen but not broken, beaten but still alive,
I will survive you cried ! I will survive!!
toiling as months turns to years,
You went, you saw and you conquered!
your only hope, an inner cry of redemption,
Yes, fallen but not broken, beaten but still alive,
I will survive you cried ! I will survive!!
toiling as months turns to years,
You went, you saw and you conquered!
